I'm going to skip the /notsigned and go for a /facepalm instead.

Why not call it what it really is? A cheap and easy way to enlarge your e-peen. The idea being proposed isn't even for a costume! It's a full blown minipet makeover. Didn't like that jungle troll? Turn it into Kanaxai and watch people have a nerdgasm every time you whip out your artificially enlarged e-peen! It's all fun and games until you're asked to show it in trade, amirite?

Most minipets don't wear clothes, so a costume would probably be something like a hat. Think santa hats, bunny ears, etc. Can you imagine the amount of time that would be required to do this for each minipet?! The OP's idea is probably less time consuming than the example I just gave, but it's still a terrible idea. So was mine. It would be bad for the game and a horrible use of Anet's resources.

We get it. There are super rare minipets out there and some of you feel that it's unfair that only a hand-full of people can have them. Get over it. That's how a lot of things in life are.

The game is 6 years old and being replaced by part 2. Why do you need asian minipets to retain their full value for? To max the hom is a fraction of what a kanaxi is worth.

Plus look at past updates.
The hom update which makes the hom treat a kanaxi the same as a black moa mini yet the Kanaxi is still super expensive. It will continue after minipet costumes to still be worth a ton.

For the lesser pets people will still need them to score points in their hom so they will retain value.

Collectors will still want the real thing.

People that don't want to spend money on cosmetic features will also buy real minis.

I think you are missing the point. Once you get past the cheaper mini pets, not that many people give a damn about putting their minis in the HoM. The expensive minis are a novelty. And you plan to take this novelty away from those players.

I could also revert your argument against you. The game is 6 years old and being replaced by part 2. Why do people need to get a bunch of costumes for their minis at this point?

1. I found your ingame name is b..... w...... and ran it in the calculator, you have 3 gold minipets dedicated there...

2. Some people like them on display but yeah not many, W... W... has like all available displayed

The same reason that people buy costumes for their character this late in the game. Their bored and want to play around with cosmetic things while waiting for part 2

Costumes can't be acquired from an in game source though. And you give me some good laughs sometimes. You know you can get gold minis for like 40k each if not less for the cheaper ones right?
And you also know that a lot of people put the minis in HoM to get their points and then never even look at the monument?

Also, good job on finding my IGN. How many hours did it take?

I did get a gold mini for 20k so sure.

Yes some dont go past the minimum but others do....
I ran your guildmate B.... S.... S.... and found 4 Green and 5 gold dedicated minis. So as you can see some people dedicate more than required as collectors. Also, you'll notice theres an arrangement feature in the hom because some people want to actually look at their hom and set up that display.

Hours... now thats funny!

Most updates are unintentionally unfair. What you propose would be intentionally unfair.

Oh, so that's how you support your suggestion, by stalking people? If you could dress up minis, I'm betting my guildie wouldn't have bought gold or green minis since they could all look the same. You are giving every single mini the ability to look like any other mini. The price of minis will go down, drastically. Period.
Also, you assuming my guildie collects minis is really funny...
This post is probably going to get removed, but I'll say it anyway. There's no arguing with you, you are just plain retarded.

Also, what's the logic behind "Anet has done unfair updates, so more unfair updates are ok". Is this part of your line of defense "Anet should do this to conform to their policies", which you use in other threads you make and completely out of context.

Wrong, 2012 will be year of the dragon, so at this time less than one year untill celestial dragon will be obtainable same way as rat, ox and rabbit was. Funny you would pick the celestial that would make you wrong... when pretty much any other of the celestials would make you right.

So I was not initially going to post on this topic, since other people have said so well why this is wrong.
But can't help it.
Guess I wont have to retell in different words what others have already said, so no will do.
Will just say that sometimes you have to accept that certain things are out of reach. Unless you want it enough to work for it.

You know what, /signed.

Let people waste their money on very frivolous things. It helps me feel better knowing 10 minutes of eye candy is worth the money to some people.

Exactly, this is only eye candy and provides no in game advantage. If people got money to help anet with development, this gives them an outlet to use it on.

OK, then make it so that only the buyers themselves see the costume change. Everyone else in the game would see the original mini.

If its just about eye candy then this should be sufficient.
